LET'S TALK GOD THINGS - EP 23 - Jim & Marlene Williams

Friday, June 12, 2026

On today's episode, our special guests are Jim & Marlene Williams.

Jim and Marlene have been happily married for nearly 31 years. Marlene is a native of Odessa, Texas, and Jim was born and raised in Casa Grande, Arizona. Their journey together began as coworkers and friends before their friendship blossomed into a relationship. Because they had both experienced divorce, they chose to begin their courtship in a unique and meaningful way, by stopping first in their church's prayer room and asking God to take control of their lives and lead their relationship. Looking back over the past three decades, they are certain that the Lord has faithfully guided every step of their journey.

Marlene dedicated more than 30 years to a successful career as a Human Resources professional and is now enjoying retirement while actively serving through volunteer work at her church. Jim has spent over three decades in leadership, consulting, and labor relations, building a career centered on serving and guiding others.

In 2005, during a life-changing trip to Israel, Jim felt the Lord place a calling on his heart to help others experience the Holy Land. On that same journey, he was invited to begin leading tours to Israel. Over the past 21 years, Jim has traveled to Israel approximately 25 to 30 times, while Marlene has visited nearly 20 times. Together, they share a deep love for Israel and often say that the moment they arrive, they feel as though they have come home.

Their passion is to help others walk where Jesus walked, bringing the pages of Scripture to life through a rich understanding of both biblical and Jewish history. Their tours emphasize faith, history, and the spiritual significance of the land, intentionally setting aside politics to focus on the enduring story of God's people and His promises.

Jim and Marlene reside in Peoria, Arizona, where they are the proud parents of four grown children and the blessed grandparents of four grandchildren. They enjoy being active in their church and local community whenever possible.

Ordained in 2013, Jim has also had the privilege of serving as a chaplain, offering spiritual care and encouragement to those in need, as well as officiating weddings, special events, and funerals. Together, Jim and Marlene remain committed to serving others, sharing their faith, and helping people deepen their relationship with God through ministry and their love for the land of Israel.

registered in the USA as a 5o1-C3 and established a Board, where Arthur is a member. Apart from
being the vision bearer and general overseer of CTM, Arthur is focused on training and mentoring
Christian leaders in Uganda and other African countries.
Rev. Dr. Arthur Magezi possesses a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication and Bible, a Masters in Christian Ministries and a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Multnomah Seminary in Portland, specializing in Evangelism. He has served as Associate Professor of Bible theology at Daystar University, Youth Ministry Consultant for the Africa Alliance of YMCAs, Director of Christian
Education- Compassion International-Uganda, Spiritual Programs Consultant-World Vision Tanzania
and Uganda, Festival Director in Uganda under the Luis Palau Association and now leading CTM. He is an Author, a TV teacher and a ministry training consultant with other ministries, both in Africa and the US.
Arthur and his team have been designing and implementing evangelism and community development programs that include planting churches, training ministers (biblical seminary and other methods), skills development, providing water to village communities, medical outreaches, women development programs, support for the elderly, elementary education, youth and children ministries and legal service ministry. Apart from his book “I am a Soldier”, Arthur is now focusing on writing more books, training leaders and doing media-based ministry. His TV program (I AM A SOLDIER) on Uganda’s national TV station (UBC) reaches over 20 million people with the gospel.

Esther Magezi’s BIO

Born in 1978, in Mubugando, a small village of Butuku region in western Uganda.  My father died
when I was very young. My mother worked hard to feed and care for us, raising her nine children
without help. Because of the poverty we faced, I could not attend school.

In 1992, at the age of 14, I went to take care of my married sister who was suffering from HIV (now
deceased). When I arrived at their home, her husband shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with me,
and I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior that very day.

Much happened to me over the next 14 years: While in Fort Portal, a family member attempted to
prostitute me for financial gain. Shortly thereafter, my sister died. After her death, I returned home but when I entered our humble house, the Lord told me, “Leave this house and go stay at the church.”
There were no rooms there, so I slept on the floor without a mattress or any covering.  The church
had no doors or windows. I often went days without food until the Lord touched someone to bring me nourishment.  While living at the church, I would walk to neighboring villages - sometimes 10-15 miles away - to share the Gospel with those who had not yet heard it. During this time, prayer and fasting were major in my life.

In 2008, a widowed pastor from World Vision came to preach at the church. He was a humble man of God, who understood and preached the Word with wisdom. He was not only very handsome, but he was educated and also knew how to speak English. He taught me about spiritual warfare. I prayedm earnestly for deliverance. Separately, God spoke to us to get married. In 2009, I was married to Arthur Magezi and we began a new journey in Christ together.

With marriage came the blessing of motherhood. Arthur had children, and I took on the honor and
privilege of becoming their mama. Many more were brought into our family one by one. Today, we are parents to 12 children and grandparents to four, with many more to come.

My journey has shaped who I am, how I teach, and how I care for others. I am deeply passionate
about the well-being of women and widows in our country. I opened a store to raise money for their
needs. Additionally, I implemented training for women so they are able to teach one another life skills such as raising goats, sewing, soap making, and hairstyling. I am currently working towards
establishing a program to help women get an education and become self-sufficient.

My story is one of grace found in my Lord and Savior that has taken me from a multitude of
adolescent hardships to a powerful transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. Today, with delight, I
am fulfilling God’s calling on my life, as Women’s Director, Christ Transformation Ministries
(CTMAfrica.org).

I live by the words found in 1 Samuel 3:9: “And it shall be that if He calls you, that you must say,
“Speak Lord, for Your servant hears.” I look forward with hopeful expectation for the next chapter of
this little life of mine.

LET'S TALK GOD THINGS - EP 17 - Lyric Gillett with Faces of Choice

Friday, May 1, 2026

Lyric Elizabeth Gillett is the founder and executive director of Faces of Choice, an
organization birthed to bring awareness to a demographic of survivors that has gone
largely unnoticed: real men and women who were aborted while still in their mothers';
wombs, but survived the process. Her mission is to change the international, cultural
conversation about abortion through the voices of survivors, by bringing the world face
to face with the reality of "choice"; through media driven campaigns. In 2020, Faces of
Choice drew national media attention after its Super Bowl ad featuring abortion
survivors was blocked by the hosting network just days before airing, prompting
widespread media coverage and public discussion. Gillett now leads efforts to bring
survivor-centered storytelling to global audiences, including a network-approved
campaign during the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, the single largest media event in
world history, with projected viewership in the billions. She views this as the catalytic
next step toward building a coordinated, life-affirming global ecosystem — one that
replaces abstraction with human reality and routes moments of cultural awakening into
tangible care, healing, and enduring structures of support by reshaping the cultural
reflex and language.

Jewel was raised and spent most of his adult life in Billings, Montana. He became a believer at a very young age and was involved in Young Life and Youth with a Mission after high school. He spent 12 years in corporate as a successful Sales Executive.  In 2004 he started an RV and automotive dealership and grew the business to a multi million dollar enterprise. The desire for financial success and achievement drove Jewel to extremes and his work life balance began to erode. Struggling with anxiety and stress he began to search for a better way and began his search for a deeper connection and understanding of Christ. Through a series of connections with friends and family. Jewel felt that God was leading him to join a Townsend Leadership Program group, which is a highly intensive one year commitment to develop his character structure in Christ in an intensive group setting. Jewel spent three years in the TLP group setting where he became a director and a personal life coach himself. Jewel currently mentors and coaches individual men and women and is a TLP director for groups. Jewel spends his winters in Arizona with his wife Jonna of 36 years. Jewel has 3 daughters.
