A recent Axios poll showed that 43% of Americans approve of socialism. In this broadcast Mike discusses this and other stories including man allowing AI to talk him out of the faith, suicide, women struggling with porn in increasing numbers, the daily flow of pastors and ministry leaders falling and being exposed to sexual sin, men stepping back from dating and work, and more. If there was ever a time for a sense of urgency and the church becoming a house of prayer, it is now.

This broadcast is an interview of Mike Genung by Scott Wilson of the Total Experience Radio show in Phoenix. Topics discussed include sexual sin in the church, prayer, and the difficulty we have with silence.

In his 1985 book, Amusing ourselves to Death, Neil Postman wrote the following: 
“When a population becomes distracted by trivia, when cultural life is redefined as a perpetual round of entertainments, when serious public conversation becomes a form of baby-talk, when, in short, a people become an audience and their public business a vaudeville act, then a nation finds itself at risk; culture-death is a clear possibility.” 

Our culture of entertainment and prosperity has affected every area of life, including the church. Sexual sin and depravity are widespread. 70% of the US is overweight. In this second of 2 shows, Mike continues to look at how the US reflects the Sodom of Ezekiel 16.

“‘Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen. Samaria did not commit half the sins you did. You have done more detestable things than they,and have made your sisters seem righteous by all these things you have done."

When Sodom and Gomorrah come to mind, many think of how the men of the city tried to rape the angels and the city was destroyed. There’s more to the story, as we see in the verses above. Pride, gorging on food, and prosperity can feed a life of pleasure, entertainment, and sexual sin. This describes the US today. In this first of three episodes, Mike Genung begins to examine how the US has become Sodom-like as Ezekiel 16 describes.

The Bible repeatedly gives us examples showing that there are few who take the narrow path, as Jesus called it. We do well to consider where we are and if our relationship with God is as strong as we assume it is. The crowd, even the Christian crowd, doesn't always get it right. 

Sandy England, leader of the wives ministry at Blazing Grace, returns to discuss what she sees wives whose husbands are mired in porn or other forms of sexual sin going through, and what their process of healing looks like.

Mike talks about not leaving God home when we go on vacation and spending time with the Lord while away, then gets into the battles many are fighting today - and losing - and what we can do about it.

John was married and a pastor for more than 8 years… but lost his marriage to divorce. In previous broadcasts John shared his story which included a years long struggle with same sex attraction and pornography, his journey to freedom, and the critical need for support from others.
In this show John returns to share the story of his son committing suicide.

When individuals, families, and churches hide their sin, be it large numbers of men and women ensnared in sexual sin or pornography, or if someone is abused sexually or spiritually, the system becomes more important then helping God's people, or even God's holiness. On a large scale, some in leadership positions may try to silence those who have been abused in their flock in order to "protect the reputation of the church," which adds more pain to those who have been hurt and states that the holiness of God doesn't matter. Mike discusses how the coverup causes more damage than good.

In 2025 the US government took in 5.23 trillion and spent 7 trillion adding 1.8 trillion to the deficit. A little under 1 trillion of that was interest.The total deficit will soon exceed 40 trillion. The US is now the largest debtor in the world. For the most part our leaders are ignoring our bankruptcy and doing nothing to stem the flow of debt. 
Are we in the church ignoring our bankruptcy, with mass numbers of men and women viewing porn, youth leaving the church in droves for the past 25 years, many with a stunted prayer life and lack of time in God's word? According to Lifeway Research, around 1 in 7 Americans (14%) believe the Bible is the actual word of God and should be taken literally, word for word. In this broadcast Mike discusses what we can do.
