This 4-year-old's sweet gesture is a beautiful example of obedience to God. The youngster wanted to do something very unexpected for one particular reason. Watch the short but moving clip to hear about the young man's heartwarming move and why he wanted to do it.
Throughout the Bible, God talks to many people, often giving them specific instructions and commands. In the case of Moses, He gave him a list of 10 very specific directives atop Mount Sinai, which you and I know as the 10 Commandments. In the Garden of Eden, He also told Adam and Eve to avoid eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Of course, we all know how that turned out for them, and since we're still dealing with the repercussions of their disobedience, us.
However, if asked, most people would likely say that God doesn't talk directly to people anymore, at least not like He did to Noah, Moses and Adam and Eve. But one young mother's beautiful and heartwarming situation involving her young son will likely change your opinion.
In the video posted on YouTube, the woman recalls her 4-year-old unexpectedly stating that he wanted to gather up some of his favorite toys and give them to one of his classmates. This caught her by surprise, but she went along with her son's desire, making arrangements to hand off the toys to the classmate's mother. That's when the woman learned how God works, answered prayer and showed her how her son obeyed God.
"I asked my son this morning, I said, 'What made you want to give all those toys to Johnna?' Like, it's pretty generous. It's like a lot of the predators of the animal kingdom toys that he has. And he said, 'God.'"
Later in the clip, the 4-year-old's mother learned while talking with the other boy's mother that she had recently prayed for and asked the Lord for toys for her children.
God hears and answers prayer, but it's up to us to listen and be obedient.
Jeremiah 7:23 "But this was the order I gave them, saying, 'Give ear to my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people: go in all the way ordered by me, so that all may be well for you.'"
