Forgiveness isn’t easy. In our nightly prayer and devotional, Clarence Haynes Jr. recounts how his struggle to forgive lasted over two decades. He knew all the right verses, even encouraged others to forgive, but inside he wrestled with bitterness toward one person who had wounded him deeply. What he learned—and what Scripture makes clear—is that forgiveness is not a suggestion but a command. And it’s not rooted in the offender’s apology or worthiness, but in the fact that God forgave us first. Unforgiveness feels powerful, but in reality, it imprisons us. The longer we cling to it, the more bitter and bound we become. True freedom begins when we release our right to hold on to the offense and entrust the outcome to God. Forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing sin or pretending nothing happened. It means letting go and allowing the Lord to heal us. The real question is not can you forgive, but do you want to? Hollywood is generally not considered a place or industry friendly to religion and people of faith. In fact, Hollywood can be downright hostile to religious individuals. Typically, in films and television shows, people of faith are portrayed as dumb, evil or both. On the very rare occasion, the hero, the protagonist, in a movie is a person of faith.

Despite Hollywood's frequent unfriendly portrayal of people of faith, that has not stopped Chris. Chris has spoken of and shared his faith and belief in Jesus Christ on several occasions. In his latest display and demonstration of his faith, Chris took to Instagram, where he prayed and asked others to join him in prayer.

During his prayer, Chris asked the Lord for peace, calm and to help him momentarily lay aside life's many distractions so that he can focus on what really matters.

"Lord, You say, be still and know that I am God, Psalm 46:10," Chris prayed. "Be still and know that I am God. In this moment, please, Lord, calm my restless mind. Quiet my anxious heart. Help me set aside distractions and choose what gives life and gives peace. Isaiah 26:3, You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You. Lord, fill me with strength to turn my attention toward You that I find rest and joy in Your presence, amen."

Christian music singer Lauren Daigle commented on Chris's post: "Prayer is a miracle. Something so simple but so powerful."

After his prayer, Chris gave the all-clear for fans to continue looking through social media or, an even better idea, to put their phones down entirely. He suggested people head outside and enjoy the great outdoors and reconnect with a friend.

Every couple's wedding day is a massive step. Those two people stand at an altar in front of God, their family and their friends and vow to remain together regardless of what life may throw at them. They promise each other that only death will separate them. What could be more beautiful than that?

Weddings are beautiful ceremonies, meant to be remembered and cherished for years to come. Those pictures and videos captured that day will be looked back upon fondly decades later. Nearly every aspect and moment of a wedding ceremony is significant and carries special meaning. In a clip posted on YouTube, a bride explains why she involved an unexpected individual during an important moment during her wedding.

Shacole Fox was set to get married, and everything was perfect. However, something was missing. She explains that she did not know her father, so she was unsure who would walk her down the aisle. The video explains that it became incredibly painful when she thought about that moment.

But then something unexpectedly beautiful and loving happened. Her landlord, 79-year-old Gil Pulliam, said he had an idea that Shacole was stressing out about that moment during her upcoming wedding. So, he asked if he could escort her down the aisle. Shacole responded immediately and enthusiastically, "Yes."

Shacole recalls that moment when Gil walked her down the aisle, saying it was "like a wound had been healed in her heart."

What an absolutely wonderful, beautiful and touching moment. I'm not sure anything will if that doesn't move you to tears.

We are all sinners. The Bible makes this completely clear, leaving no room to argue otherwise. The book of Romans mentions that all have sinned and fallen well short of God’s glory. We’ve all willingly turned away from Him and His commands, choosing to go about things our own way.

Of course, intentionally going against and ignoring God’s directives and commandments is sin, and the Bible also says that the wages of sin is death. However, Jesus Christ is the one and only factor that can and did change everything. He willfully died, while we were still sinners, giving of Himself so that we might experience eternal life. He gives hope where there is none. He offers love and forgiveness when we deserve condemnation and to be cast out.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a young woman, Madison Prewett Troutt, formerly a contestant on “The Bachelor,” shared how the Lord came into her life and entirely changed everything. He did only what He could do. He accepted her as she was and forgave her, despite her sin and brokenness.

“Jesus Christ changed my life,” she said. “He has absolutely changed my life in every single way. Like, you want peace? Jesus.  You want hope? Jesus. You want love? Jesus. And so many of us are searching for those things, and it can only be found in Jesus.”

Later in the clip, she mentioned that because people look and search for all those things in the wrong places, they are drawn deeper and deeper into sin. But regardless of what we’ve done, we can always turn to Him.

“But I have found true life in Jesus,” she added. “And that’s what I would say, I can preach, and I can teach, and I can encourage from a place of authority because He’s changed my life.”
