Scott Hamilton reflected on his adoption and how God was moving and working in that process. The Olympic gold medalist shared that he was adopted as a child, but also how, looking back, he can see that God was in control the whole time. Children are a gift and a blessing from the Lord above, and should be treated as such. Many would say children are the biggest blessing anyone can receive, and they are more than likely correct. For many people, becoming parents is a big desire, a dream. However, for one reason or another, a lot of couples cannot have children of their own.

Having biological children is not the only path to becoming parents. Adoption is a desperately needed, but sadly, often overlooked option. There are many children in this world who need good, safe and loving homes, and adoption is a way to provide that for little ones. In a clip posted on social media, Olympic skater Scott Hamilton shares how he was adopted and sees God’s hand at work, looking back all these years later.

The video begins with Scott saying that he was adopted as a child, stating that he was an “oops” and “unintended.” But, as he adds, he has learned that doesn’t mean he wasn’t wanted and loved.

“You know, it’s always that thing with adoption, right?” Scott said. “You know, there’s always that kind of a disconnect of, was I, I know I was unintended, but was I unwanted? And it’s really remarkable that now, all these 65 years later, you know, over the years, I really understood that God is in control. And He chose those parents for me.”

He adds how he will forever be grateful to his birth mother for “staying the course” and for being brave and generous enough to put him up for adoption, because he was eventually adopted by the two people God had selected to be his parents – two schoolteachers from northwestern Ohio.

A golf course became an unexpected runway in a young pilot’s incredible emergency landing. The aircraft’s stunning emergency landing on the course was all captured on camera. Watch the short but unbelievable clip to see the plane landing in the middle of a course.

Everyone has hobbies and pastimes—things that let them kick back and relax. Hobbies can be helpful for our mental health. They can help calm our nerves and take our minds off those people and situations that induce stress and worry. If you don’t have a favorite hobby, picking one up is probably a good idea.

For many people, golf is their chosen hobby. They enjoy spending their free time out on the green, shooting a round of nine or 18. Personally, putt-putt is the closest I get to playing actual golf. The few times I have played golf, I’ve found it incredibly dull and slow, but maybe that’s the entire point?

For golfers on one course in Los Angeles, their round of golf was anything but dull and slow. While they were playing, they witnessed an airplane on the course—yes, an airplane used the course as a runway. A clip posted on YouTube captures the unbelievable sight.

The plane was piloted by Jim Moret, a 21-year-old who had recently gotten his license. The clip states that while flying the friendly skies, the plane’s engine quit working, forcing him to make an emergency landing. He quickly spotted two options – a soccer field with children or the golf course. The young man promptly chose the golf course.

The video doesn’t mention if there were any injuries involved in the emergency landing, but Jim’s first action after getting back on solid ground seems to indicate that no one was hurt. He called his mother.

“I just had to make a landing at a golf course, everything’s OK,” Jim told his mother. “Because I didn’t want my mom to freak out, and then she called me about 10 minutes later, after seeing everything all over the news, bawling her eyes out.”

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of self-control.”

One teacher’s kind gift of new shoes brings a respectful student to tears. The young man was completely surprised by the educator’s gift and immediately became emotional. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear why the teacher bought the shoes for him and to see his sweet reaction to the gift.

The men and women working in education are in crucial, vital positions. They impact and influence the next generation daily. The knowledge, facts and figures shared in the classroom will only help to serve those children in their future as they enter the workforce. But even more important than any lesson plan is the teacher’s words, attitude and conduct toward their students.

Those children may not remember in what classroom they acquired a specific bit of information, but they will never forget how a teacher treated them and made them feel. That type of impact, impression—positive or negative—will remain with them forever. A clip posted on YouTube captured a teacher rewarding a student and making a positive impact on him that he’s likely to remember for the rest of his life.

The video begins with the young man entering the room. As he does, the woman behind the camera, the teacher, asks him about a recent incident in the classroom. The child’s classmates were acting up, not listening to the teacher and generally being disrespectful.

The teacher asked the young man how he responded to the situation and what his parents taught him that would not allow him to act like his classmates did.

“My parents taught me to respect people,” the young man says.

So, since the young man listened to his parents and demonstrated respect when others did not, the teacher wanted to reward him. She surprised him with a brand-new pair of shoes.

But before opening the bag and the box, the young man continually says, “Thank you.” He is grateful for the gift, even though he does not know what it is yet. Once he reveals the shoes, he begins crying, unable to believe the kindness and generosity his teacher had shown him.

What a beautiful moment!

A kind-hearted officer helped a family of geese cross a busy street in a sweet moment. The law enforcement official ensured the animals safely made it to the other side of the street. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to see the officer’s loving actions.

Animals are some of the best creatures on Earth, and there is no question about it. Every pet owner would most certainly agree with that statement. Even those who are not currently pet owners would also be in complete, wholehearted agreement. How can you not love and adore animals?

Those critters were placed on this planet by the same God who gave you and me breath. They are part of His creation, too. As such, animals are fully deserving of kindness, love and respect. If they were important enough for Him to put on Earth, they are important enough for us to look out for their well-being. That’s precisely what one police officer in New York did in a video posted on YouTube.

A family of geese was attempting to cross a busy, dangerous street in New York City. As the clip explains, when an officer spotted the animals looking to cross the street, he stepped up, stopped traffic and helped to guide the animals to safety.

“I know we live in such a busy area, and we’re always in a rush,” the officer said. “So, you know, just know and be aware that these things can happen. Like, wildlife could be on the road, and even worse, pedestrians. So, just take it easy. Slow down.”

This is an excellent reminder to slow down and consider the needs and well-being of others. In our busy, hectic, multi-tasking, time-is-money world, many often forget that life is not always about us and our needs.

A child battling cancer sees her brother again, and her heartfelt reaction is pure love. The sick little girl was reunited with her brother after weeks apart, and how she responded when she saw him will bring tears to your eyes. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to see the precious moment they were back together again. 

Life is rarely, if ever, a fair experience. Sin has utterly ruined and destroyed our world, and has brought about sickness, disease and pain. Getting out of and through this life without knowing and experiencing struggle, hurt and heartache is impossible. Not even the most innocent and vulnerable are safe from suffering.

One of the worst things in this world is to hear about and see children suffering and hurting. Those situations often bring even the most stoic and unemotional people to tears. Children are supposed to be outside running around, playing and enjoying life, not in a hospital bed battling a life-threatening disease or illness.

A clip posted on YouTube shows a young woman sitting in a hospital bed. Text in the video makes it clear that the little one is fighting for her life, battling cancer. Seconds into the clip, the sick child gets an unexpected visitor, and her attitude and demeanor change instantly.

The video’s text also makes it clear that the little girl has been separated from her brother for two weeks. Her hospital door opens, and in walks her brother. The child immediately lights up at the sight of her “bubba.”

In his arms, the young man carries games and toys and tries to explain this to his sister. She does not care at all about those possessions. She wants a hug from her brother.

“Bubba!” the little girl says. “Bubba, come here!”

She pulls him in tight, making for one of the most adorable and heartbreaking sights you’ve ever seen.

Some heroic officers rushed to rescue a child with autism from a busy, dangerous highway. The law enforcement officials put their own safety at risk when they ran out onto a California highway to keep a young man safe from harm. Watch the short but powerful clip to see officers in action.

Society’s definition of what makes for a hero is incredibly wrong, embarrassingly so. Far too many believe that someone running for and elected to public office is a hero. An individual who casts votes in Congress or issues an endless and far-reaching lineup of executive orders is in no conceivable way a hero. Neither is someone who can put a ball through a hoop or appear on television and recite lines written by someone else.

Real, true heroes act without regard for or concern for themselves. They aren’t seeking fame, power, wealth or trying to benefit themselves in any way. Instead, they do and act in the well-being of others, often people they do not even know. That is precisely what a handful of police officers did when they rushed to save a young man from a busy highway.

The clip posted on YouTube explains the situation, stating that the situation began after the 11-year-old with autism ran out of a supermarket. After running from the grocery store, the young man was reported missing, as his family could not locate him.

Less than an hour after the child’s family phoned 911 to alert authorities of the situation, a dispatcher who was headed home spotted the young man near an on-ramp. Officers on the scene attempted to apprehend the child, but that proved to be easier said than done.

The 11-year-old climbed onto the highway and started running on the shoulder of a busy road. Officers gave chase and eventually caught the young man. Thankfully, there were no injuries.

Youngsters were stunned by a woman’s unexpected generosity and kindness. The two young men could not believe their good fortune when a woman gave them quite a tip. Unfortunately, the world we live in is often a sad, lonely and cold place. Many people seem to be able to treat one another with a surprising amount of hatred and cruelty. Don’t believe me? Simply look at social media. Minutes after logging into popular social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Instagram, you’re likely to find some of the most profane, cold-hearted and vile things you’ve ever encountered.

Our world suffers from an incredible shortage of kindness, love and generosity. Often, people seem only concerned about themselves – everyone from our elected officials to our coworkers. So, when someone does something with the well-being of others in mind, it can be surprising and a bit jarring. Those acts and surprises also help restore our faith in humanity, even for just a little while.

A clip posted on social media captures one of those special, unexpected moments when someone shows kindness and love to someone. The video is of two young men selling cookies to a middle-aged woman. She quickly looks through their baked goods for sale and eventually settles on three bags of cookies.

After making her decision, the woman hands one of the young men some money and tells them to “keep the change.” Both young men cannot believe what she has just done.

“Thank you!” they both respond.

Their excitement continued as they left the front porch. They could be heard talking about the large tip for quite some time.

“Did that just happen?” one of them asks.

Later, before the clip ends, one hilariously mentions that they are now financially well off.

“Oh my gosh!” one child says. “We’re rich!”

We never know how much a simple act of kindness and love will impact someone.

However, in a clip posted on YouTube, Carol explains that if not for the kindness of another legendary comedian, Lucille Ball, The Carol Burnett Show may never have existed. Carol explained how Lucille provided her with a helping hand in her career at a critical, make-or-break moment.

“The woman who influenced me the most was probably Lucille Ball,” Carol said. “She came to see me in “Once Upon a Mattress,” which was my first Broadway break, and she was there the second night. And I was more nervous that she was in the audience than I was the night before when all the critics were.”

After that evening’s show, Lucille, while talking with Carol, told her something that forever changed her career.

“And she said, ‘Kid,” Carol said. “She called me ‘Kid.’ She was 22 years old, older than I was, and said, ‘Kid, whenever you need me, give me a call.’”

Several years later, Carol had landed her first television special. However, she could only do it if she could get a major star to appear on it. She knew exactly who to reach out to: Lucille Ball. Lucille agreed to do it, and the rest is history.

They soon became friends, and Lucille always sent Carol flowers on her birthday. Sadly, Carol woke up one morning to learn her friend, the legendary Lucille Ball, had passed away – it was Carol’s birthday. Several hours later that day, flowers arrived for Carol. They were from Lucille Ball.

However, even after accepting Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, human beings do not become perfect. We remain flawed individuals who can still be tripped up, stumble and fall. Perfection is not possible when it comes to humanity. But even when we stumble and fall, He is faithful to forgive and quick to love.

A clip posted on YouTube captures one man’s powerful testimony of how God was working and active in His life. The man who admits he’s homeless, currently living in a hotel and is battling addiction shows that God is fully aware of what we’re dealing with and going through and how He can and will meet those needs.

While on his way to get something to eat, a house catches the man’s eye, leading to a conversation with an individual. During their conversation, both men, named Brian, share that they are committed followers of Christ.

Moments into their conversation, the homeless man is unexpectedly offered a job.

“You know what the first thing this man asked me?” the man recalled. “Do I need a job?”

But the Lord wasn’t done yet. The homeless man’s phone was scheduled to be shut off tomorrow. The other man paid his cell phone bill on the spot and even gave him some money.

“I’m talking about how good God is, right?” he said. “He put some money; the man put some money in my pocket. He shared his story with me about how Jesus, how God pulled him out of addiction, how God has changed his life and put a whole business in his hands. And now I’m sitting here talking to this man, and he’s opening up his arms to me. Do y’all hear me? In recovery, in AA, they all say nobody’s coming for you. Nobody’s coming for you. God just showed up for me.”

What a wonderful and powerful testimony about God’s goodness and love!
