A woman came up with an inventive and imaginative way to let her husband, a police officer, know that he’s becoming a father.
Parenting a child is one of life’s biggest blessings. Those lucky enough to become parents understand there is nothing like watching a youngster grow and learn. Yes, being a mother and a father is a big, often daunting task, but it’s worth it.
A clip posted on YouTube caught the moment when a woman let her husband know that they have a child on the way and that he is going to be a father. The overwhelming joy and happiness on his face after the police officer puts it all together is unmistakable and beautiful.
The short video begins with the officer in his department vehicle racing down the street with the car’s lights flashing. It’s likely that the woman reached out to his department or to him directly, informing him that she had an emergency.
Once the young man parks and exits the vehicle, he asks rather sternly, “What seems to be the problem?”
His wife, who seems to understand her husband’s urgency, takes it all in stride. Instead of being rattled, she tells her husband that he has received a package, which he must open immediately.
“You got a package,” she tells her husband.
“Who’s it from?” he responds.
“I can’t tell you,” the woman answers.
But she eventually relents and tells him that the package is from her. The police officer then whips out a pocket knife and hurriedly opens the box, finally revealing its contents.
It’s a black, elongated cup with the word “DAD” emblazoned on the container in gray lettering.
He looks at the camera, pointing out that it has the word “Dad on it.” He then, once again, looks at the container. This time, it appears to dawn on him that he’s going to be a father.
“You’re joking me?” the officer states, unable to fully comprehend the good news at the moment.
Several times near the end of the clip, the young police officer is unable to speak, overcome with emotion. It’s clear that he is looking forward to being a father.

<p>Law enforcement members experience stressful, dangerous and deadly situations on a regular basis. The decisions and actions of police officers and deputies during those tense, nerve-racking moments can be the difference between life and death. </p>
<p>One sheriff’s deputy in Minnesota, Thomas Roble, experienced one of those anxiety-filled and panic-stricken instances when he was the first person on the scene of a house fire. Thomas’ heroic actions saved the lives of a family of four, which included two young children. </p>
<p>In the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SSY_ZGd3CY">clip posted on YouTube</a>, the deputy sprints to the house on fire, where four people – the DeLange family – are trapped inside the burning structure. Once the deputy gets to the house, he learns that the mother and father are near a second-floor window with their two children. </p>
<p>With little time remaining and their options for escaping the structure severely limited, Deputy Thomas Roble tells Mom and Dad to let go of the children and drop them to him. </p>
<p>The deputy catches the 1-year-old boy, and the 3-year-old girl and then moves them to safety, as the video shows. The children suffered only minor injuries, just some smoke inhalation.</p>
<p>Mom and Dad, with no other way to get out, were forced to jump from the second-story window. Mom suffered a broken back, and Dad broke a vertebra as a result of their jump, but everyone is still alive.</p>
<p>We can’t thank him [the deputy] enough,” Dad said. “You know, if he hadn’t shown up when he did, we probably wouldn’t have made it.”</p>
<p>“We were told we had seconds left,” mom said. </p>
<p>That deputy’s heroic and quick-thinking actions saved the lives of that family of four. He saved the young children from suffering devastating and possibly deadly injuries. </p>

<p>Relationships are difficult, often tricky things in which to maneuver. Feelings are not always easy to articulate. Things can come out wrong, and actions can be misinterpreted. Feelings can be easily hurt and lead to massively damaged and broken-beyond-repair relationships. Relationships, especially between a parent and a child, must be handled with great care, love and sensitivity.</p>
<p>In a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7HTTzc29JE">clip posted on YouTube</a>, George and his daughter Mayan appeared on <em>The Kelly Clarkson Show</em> and talked about their since-mended relationship and their sitcom, <em>Lopez vs. Lopez</em>.</p>
<p>The series, as Mayan mentions, is loosely based on her and her father’s previously strained relationship. However, she adds that the program is an opportunity for her to further heal from when she and her father weren’t in a good place.</p>
<p>“This is such an opportunity to heal, and I always wanted my pain to mean something,” Mayan said. </p>
<p>She added that she has learned how to have empathy and to understand some of the things that her father did that she may not have agreed with in years past.</p>
<p>George added that when growing up, people would disappear from his life. But he adds that as he became an adult, he wanted to break that pattern. He desired a relationship with his daughter.</p>
<p>“I finally realized that, as an adult, that I couldn’t and didn’t want to do that or go down that road anymore,” George said. “And that this person [his daughter Mayan] right here was the one love of my life, and one I would never let go for anything.”</p>
<p>Praise God that these two were able to mend a broken relationship and decided that they needed the other in their life. </p>
