Avery's gift is not just a coincidence. He is blessed to born into a musical family. His Great-grandfather was the extraordinary Maxwell Davis who worked for many years in Los Angeles, California as a tenor saxophone player, producer, arranger composer, songwriter, and band leader. He was known as the Father of the West Coast R&B during the '50s and '60s. Some of the artists he worked with were Etta James, B.B. King, Richard Berry, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Jesse Belvin, Z.Z. Hill, Percy Mayfield...and he arranged an album featuring Louis Armstrong in 1968 entitled Disney Songs the Satchmo Way. His memory still lives on and Avery is carrying on his legacy by becoming an astounding musician like his Great-grandfather, Maxwell Davis.

Special thanks to everyone who helped us honor the life of our son, Ishmael Jr. (One of our Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome survivors who later passed away from complications - but lived 3.5yrs. by God's grace!!!)
This year we wanted to celebrate him by rocking red and encouraging others to participate by spreading love and acts of kindness... The turn-out was AMAZING! We thank God for all of the family, friends, and even strangers who participated in this day and we look forward to doing it up even bigger and better next year!
Love,
The Josiah Family
