One policeman stepped up in a big way, going above and beyond the call of duty when he saved the life of a young woman who had stopped breathing.

Heroes can and do come from all walks of life. But the individuals most people refer to and think of as heroes are not at all. Big-name star athletes, Hollywood actors or Washington politicians are not the slightest bit heroic. Instead of giving of themselves to others, they are typically acting out of and motivated by selfish ambition. 

However, real heroes usually fly under the radar, choosing not to receive any recognition for their good and selfless deeds. They don’t make the big screen, the Sportscenter highlights reel or the Sunday morning political talk shows. 

But one young man is rightfully getting some recognition for saving the life of a 3-year-old child. In a clip posted on YouTube, body camera footage shows Ohio police officer Soren Osicka rushing to the scene. The video states that the young woman had fallen, hit her head and stopped breathing.   

As the 23-year-old officer reaches the scene and the little girl, the child’s mother is understandably distraught. She wants what every parent would want in that situation: someone to help her little girl. 

Moments after getting to the scene, Officer Osicka frantically starts performing life-saving maneuvers, desperately trying to get the child to start breathing once again. While working on the young woman, the officer tries to coax her into breathing. 

“Come on, sweetie,” Officer Osicka says. “Hang with me, OK?”

The young officer’s efforts are successful, as the video shows. She starts breathing once again. Praise God!

Following his heroic actions, Officer Osicka carries the young woman to an ambulance, giving medical first responders an update on her condition.

“It’s cool, you know, to have less than 6 months on and be able to experience something that’s going to stick with me the rest of my life,” Officer Osicka said in an interview.

Proverbs 20:11 “Even a child may be judged by his doings, if his work is free from sin and if it is right.”

One police officer’s heroic and quick-thinking actions saved the life of a young man who had fallen into an icy pond and was struggling to stay above the freezing water.

The men and women who work in law enforcement are regularly exposed to some of the worst elements of society. Whenever there is a deadly crash, a murder or some other tragedy, police officers are usually the first people on the scene. They encounter things that most people cannot handle or comprehend. 

Additionally, officers rush to scenes of emergencies currently taking place. In those instances, they must act correctly and without hesitation. One false move or the slightest hesitation could mean the difference between life and death. In a clip posted on YouTube, a police officer raced to the scene where a child had fallen into a pond and was in danger of drowning.

Footage from the officer’s body camera shows the officers running through a snow-covered meadow to reach the scene of the emergency. After jumping over a fence, viewers see a head sticking out of the water. It’s the frightened 10-year-old child struggling to keep his head above the water. 

After arriving on the scene, the officer must act fast. So, to get to and save the young man, the officer gets down on his hands and knees and begins crawling on the ice-covered pond. While the officer is making his way to the crying child, he is reassuring the child that he will be OK and he’s coming to him.

“I got down on all fours, and I just slowly started going out,” Troy Ellison, a patrolman with Jonesboro Police Department, said. “The ice was cracking a little. So, I just slowed down and had him reach out to me as far as he could.”

The video states that the young man will be OK.

Thank God that people like Troy, without thinking, put their safety at risk to help others. He is truly a hero!

John 15:13 “Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives up his life for his friends.”

One woman, a Vermont state trooper, did not hesitate even for a second when it came to rescuing an 8-year-old girl drowning in an icy body of water.

The word “hero” gets thrown around far too often today. People, for some reason, will describe an athlete, a vainglorious actor or a morally bankrupt, power-hungry politician as a “hero.” In those and most other instances, the term most certainly does not apply. 

However, there are a few frequent occasions when someone exhibits such courage, bravery and fearlessness that “hero” is the best and only way to describe them. Michelle Archer is the definition of a hero.

She jumped into an icy pond to save an 8-year-old girl who was drowning. 

“There wasn’t a whole lot of thinking,” Michelle said. “It was just, you know, jumping into action.”

The water when Michelle jumped in was only 40 degrees. However, at the time of her heroic actions, Michelle states that she didn’t even notice the cold water. It’s clear that her only concern was saving the child’s life.

“It’s kind of interesting,” Michelle said. “On scene, I didn’t remember it being cold, but, you know, as you watch the video, I’m sure that people noticed that my breathing changed.” 

After reaching the child, Michelle grabbed her and pulled her out of the water and onto the shore. Michelle admits that she did not think the young woman was going to make it. 

But then something miraculous happened.

The young woman started making noises. It was a loud cry, a moaning sound. The little girl did survive the scary situation. 

Praise God for Michelle’s heroic actions! She saved that young woman’s life and didn’t twice before jumping into a near-freezing pond to pull her to safety. 

There are still heroes in society, and Michelle Archer is one of them.

One man went to an extraordinary and stunningly dangerous length to keep his precious dog from being hurt and possibly killed by a coyote.

Most people love and adore animals. Even if they are not a pet owner, the odds are pretty good that they’ve had a pet at some point and still have a soft spot in their hearts for dogs and cats. Regardless of whether someone currently has a pet or not, no one wants to see an animal suffer, especially if that animal is a beloved family pet. 

In fact, most people would probably put themselves in harm’s way to rescue or protect their pets. Some would go further than others, but steps would be taken to save an animal from harm.

A video posted on YouTube shows a South Carolina man, Timothy Snipe, put his safety at risk to keep his dog, a chihuahua named Roxie, safe when it encountered a coyote. 

The clip states that Roxie, after spotting the wild animal, ran right up to the coyote, barking furiously. The video shows the chihuahua momentarily disappearing off the screen, but it quickly returns with the coyote right on its tail.

However, Timothy, wearing a bathrobe and slippers, positioned himself between the coyote and Roxie. Initially, Timothy feared the worst after seeing the wild animal, thinking Roxie’s life was in extreme danger.

“I thought he was going to grab her and take her back in the woods,” Timothy said.

But Timothy wasn’t about to let that happen. Instead, Timothy momentarily danced around with the wild animal until he grabbed the creature by its tail. 

After securing the animal, Timothy picks up the beast, carries it and then places the coyote in a nearby trash dumpster. 

Following Timothy’s courageous move, animal control arrived on the scene to pick up the coyote.  

Timothy’s heroic move did not come without a price. He admits that the coyote did bite him on the legs, but those injuries did not appear to be serious or life-threatening.

That was some quick-thinking and bravery on Timothy’s part. All pet owners love their animals, but I’m not sure many people would try to pick up a wild animal by its tail.

Proverbs 12:10 “An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evildoers are cruel.”

A brave young woman stepped in and saved the day and her 4-year-old brother from becoming a possible kidnapping victim.

Children are precious gifts from the good Lord. They bless their parent’s lives in many ways by adding an infinite amount of joy and happiness. Parents might describe their children as their hearts outside their bodies walking around, interacting with the world. 

The invaluable and priceless nature of children and how much they mean to their parents and siblings makes one little girl’s actions that much more heroic. In a clip posted on YouTube, one girl stepped in and prevented the kidnapping of her little brother.

The clip shows a man in a Florida Walmart approaching the four-year-old, grabbing his hand. He then attempts to leave the area quickly with the child. Thankfully, the man’s sinister attempt was prevented. The child’s older sister witnessed the man’s devious actions and swooped in to save the day.

The video states that after spotting what was taking place, she also reached out to the 4-year-old, grabbed the young man by the arm and pulled him back to safety. 

Authorities were quickly alerted to the situation. They tracked down the suspect and arrested him. He has since been charged with false imprisonment of a child.

Thank God that the 4-year-old’s sister was nearby and alert. She prevented what could have been a disastrous, tragic and heartbreaking situation. She is truly a hero, saving her precious little brother from a potentially terrifying situation.

The world is a lost and broken place where heinous and evil things happen daily. But just like that 4-year-old had his older sister looking out for him, we also have someone looking over us. Our Heavenly Father guides, directs and protects us during our every move. 

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

A police officer in northern Indiana is a hero after saving the life of a child who had become unresponsive.

Life is the most precious and delicate item on the face of the Earth. Due to the priceless nature of that God-given gift, it must be protected in any and every possible way. All efforts must be made to protect and defend life. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Officer Brian Meador, a member of the South Bend, Indiana, Police Department, races out to attend to an unresponsive child. Brian then began performing chest compressions on the youngster in a desperate attempt to get the child breathing once again.

Brian continued the lifesaving maneuver on the child while he and the child’s parents waited at the police station for medics to arrive. Thankfully, the officer’s quick-thinking actions were successful. 

“Luckily, the baby started crying about the time that EMS got to the front door,” Brian said.

Normally, a crying child can be a mild irritant, but in this instance, when the child’s life hung in the balance, that was a welcomed sign. Brian called the child’s cries “music” to his ears.

Brian also praised the youngster’s parents for their part in saving the child’s life.

“Huge shoutout to mom and dad for knowing, you know, what to do in that situation as well,” Brian said. “That’s huge.”

The child’s mother and father were on their way to hospital as their youngster had been battling an illness. However, during their trip to the hospital, the child became unresponsive, and that’s when mom and dad made a detour to the South Bend Police Department. 

The video adds that the child continues to recover. 

Praise God for the lifesaving, heroic efforts of Officer Brian Meador and the child’s mother and father!

A group of high school students stepped up in a big way during an emergency and helped lift a car off the ground, freeing a mother and her son who were pinned underneath.

Life, for the most part, is an unpredictable experience. Sure, everyone has a general idea of what to expect during an average day. But those expectations can be thrown out the window without notice. Things can change in an instant. 

Frightening and horrifying emergencies can arise, putting someone’s life in grave danger. That’s a sad fact that a mother and her two young children know all too well after they were hit by a car walking across a school parking lot in Utah, according to a video posted on YouTube.

Fortunately, the little girl freed herself and crawled out from under the car. However, the mother and her son were left pinned under the vehicle. But thanks to the heroism and quick actions of a group of high school students, the mom and her son were soon freed from their scary predicament.

The video shows a group of high school students banding together and crowding around the car. They then picked up the car high enough off the group to where the mother and the little boy were able to get out from underneath the vehicle. 

Following their rescue, the mother and her child were transported to the hospital for treatment. The woman underwent surgery, which her husband said “went well.”  

The woman’s husband is eternally grateful for the students and the school administrators' efforts to save his wife and young son. He knows things could have turned out very differently. 

“Thank you so much,” he said. “Like, they were monumental in my family’s life.”

The stunning clip shows that when people work together and direct their efforts toward a good and worthwhile cause amazing things can happen. It can even save a life. 

Psalm 82:3-4 “Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights. Be the savior of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evildoers.”

Ask for His strength to release your grip on control and seek His discernment in aligning your desires with His. Trust that God will faithfully unveil His divine plan for your life as you surrender, stirring purpose and joy within your soul. Dear brethren, surrendering to God's will is not always easy, and it is normal to face resistance within ourselves. But when we choose to surrender, we are met with the abundance of His grace and the peace that surpasses all understanding. In surrender to God's Will, we experience true freedom, unburdened by the weight of our striving and embraced by the boundless love of our Heavenly Father. Amen. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be achieved." Amen. Prayer for Today! May God's grace illuminate your path, offering reassurance and a sense of unwavering faith at any moment. A kindhearted and caring United States Postal Service employee came to the rescue of a dog who had been bitten by a venomous snake, rushing the injured animal to a veterinarian.

Animals are creatures placed on Earth by the same God who created man, the mountains, oceans and the entire universe. As such, because they are part of God’s creation, they deserve love, care, kindness and respect. 

One woman, Holle Keene Prigmore, who delivers mail for the USPS in Georgia, was doing her rounds one day in September when she came across a disturbing scene. She discovered Ginger, a beagle she commonly encounters during her route, had been bitten by a copperhead snake, according to People. 

Ginger’s owners, Kelsey and Aaron Proctor, were at work and not home at the time of the incident. So, Holle took matters into her own hands and got the injured animal some much-needed medical attention.

However, before she took the animal to the vet, Holle swiftly devised a way to let Kelsey and Aaron know about the situation. She typed up a message on her phone about what had happened and what she was doing. She then held it up to the couple’s doorbell camera, making sure it could be seen and read. 

Then, in a message posted on Facebook, Kelsey wrote that they were grateful for Holle’s kind and life-saving actions for their beloved pet Ginger. 

She added, “Ginger is going to be okay, and I truly believe it’s because of this woman.”

Then, in a follow-post on the social media site, Kelsey posted photos of the injured animal, one showing the dog with her back left leg lifted off the ground. 

In the post’s caption, Kelsey mentioned that Ginger is “doing well” and has “been resting, getting lots of love, and under some blankies.” 

Holle’s kindness, love and concern for the animal’s well-being helped to save Ginger’s life.
